CBH seeks a full time Asset Management Assistant to support the newly organized Asset Management department.  The Asset Management Assistant position plays a key role in ensuring effective regulatory and investor reporting for all CBH’s housing developments in operations as well as  ensuring occupancy  and long term performance   of the organization’s portfolio per investor and lender requirements as well as the stability and quality of life of the residents within these buildings. These activities will be supervised under the direction of the Executive Director and will also interface and work closely with CBH’s Asset Management Consultant, Office Manager & Special Projects Assistant and the Administrative Assistant.



An undergraduate degree in business, public administration, urban planning/studies or a related area or relevant experience in the field is preferred but may be substituted by at least 5 consecutive years in a non-related field whereby the duties involved supervising and/or managing multiple individuals and properties.  Experience in the non-profit industry is highly desirable but not required.



  • Responsible for overseeing independent property management companies of CBH’s portfolio,
  • Prepare annual operating budgets
  • Prepare residual receipts calculations
  • Coordinate with independent accountants and auditors in the preparation and review of audited financial statements
  • Ensure accuracy of leasing activities on behalf of the property management company and third party consultant, including tenant files
  • Research, as necessary, partnership agreements, loan documents, regulatory agreements
  • With the assistance of the Asset Management Consultant, submits periodic reporting and ensures all regulatory, lender and investor compliance
  • Ensure individual building business license are obtained and remain current
  • With the assistance of the Asset Management Consultant, prepares and submit initial, and on annual basis, all documentation to ensure welfare tax exemption
  • With the assistance of the Asset Management Consultant, monitors periodic reporting requirements of tax credit limited partners. Prepares and files information and reports as needed.
  • Works hand in hand with the Housing Development Director during submittal of housing development applications as related to operating budgets and proformas, rent restrictions, welfare tax exemptions, fair housing issues, and supportive service plans
  • Transitions projects from construction to completion
  • Acts as liaison to the service provider and other operational issues as necessary
  • Maintains department calendar of reporting requirements. Scans significant documents and transfers to department’s electronic files.  Monitors certificate of insurance database to maintain compliance with contract requirements.


  • Maintain electronic and paper filing systems
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential, sensitive and proprietary information
  • Proficient typing skills; thorough knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
  • Excellent grammar, editing and proofreading skills to complete and correct correspondence and reports
  • Ability to represent the company in written, telephone and personal interaction with business partners and the public
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Take responsibility for moving tasks forward while seeking support when appropriate
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate complex activities, prioritize conflicting demands and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work professionally and effectively in team collaborations
