Job DescriptionThis role will report to the Senior Community Relations Manager and will be responsible for leading a diverse team of community development professionals committed to empowering low-to-moderate (“LMI”) income neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties. This position presents a unique opportunity for a talented leader to create and oversee key community development functions including planning and executing community and economic development activities, orchestrating financial education programs, establishing and maintaining relationships with government officials and mitigating reputational risk for the company.
Key Responsibilities Include: Managing a team of 4 community development professionals working across 5 counties Exercising the usual authority of a manager, including selection and on-going development of staff, ensuring personal growth of the team Developing community relations strategies, policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance, with a focus on housing, workforce development, community health and financial education Building strong partnerships and communication linkages between Wells Fargo line of business leaders and functional partners including Government Relations, Mortgage Servicing, Community Lending & Investing, Marketing and Communications, etc. Contributing significantly to the company's OCC Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) exam rating by ensuring that the investment of Wells Fargo assets supports the growth of LMI communities Establishing and maintaining relationships with government officials, community organizations and key stakeholders to achieve Wells Fargo corporate social responsibility goals within the community Providing strategic counsel and regular interaction with business executives on managing reputation risk Being the subject matter expert and speaking on behalf of Wells Fargo and its commitment to advancing social equity in underserved communities Assessing community needs and the company's effectiveness and efficiency in meeting those needs and implementing changes and program improvements to drive community and economic development
This position is located at 333 South Grand Avenue in Los Angeles, CA and does not offer relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications 8+ years of community relations experience 4+ years of management experience
Desired Qualifications Experience managing high-performing diverse teams working across a large geographic region Experience working with the Community Reinvestment Act and achieving an outstanding rating Experience working with federal and state regulations around affordable housing and workforce development Experience creating strategic plans for community and economic development projects Experience securing positive news coverage for proactive storytelling and strategic reputation management Experience developing operational reporting, key performance metrics and analyzing complex data Experience managing budgets for ongoing operations as well as project investments Experience presenting information in a manner that persuades, educates, and enhances understanding at all levels
