SUPPORTIVE HOUSING ASSET MANAGER
WAKELAND HOUSING AND DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

Overview

The Supportive Housing Asset Manager is responsible for assisting with the overall operation of Wakeland’s supportive housing property portfolio. This position will oversee the third-party management company, assist with the lease up of properties, coordinate communication between social service providers and property management, respond to tenant issues, and assist in monitoring the implementation of policies, procedures, and programs that ensure a well-managed portfolio. Recent experience in leasing Permanent Supporting Housing projects in the City of Los Angeles is strongly desired. Position will be based in our Los Angeles office. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Manage property Management Company, ensuring properties are well maintained, being operated efficiently, and in compliance with local, state, federal, and other governing agencies. 

  2. Participate in weekly calls with property management and ensure that any issues are resolved and a timely manner.
     
  3. Manage the timely lease up of all properties from start to finish and help with the preparation of lease-up and operation budgets. 

  4. Participate in regular meetings with property management and service providers to ensure successful operations of supportive housing properties.

  5. Perform regular site visits to Wakeland properties, monitor maintenance, compliance and staffing 

  6. Complete annual file audits and unit inspections 

  7. Assist in reviewing and preparing annual operating budgets

  8. Review quarterly financials of Wakeland properties to ensure no proper operations of the project. 

  9.    Perform other duties as assigned. 

Required Knowledge/Experience

  1.  Experience in affordable housing, property management/operations and practices

  2. Demonstrated ability to work with supportive housing tenants in a trauma-informed care environment

  3. Experience with affordable/supportive housing lease ups through the Coordinated Entry System

  4. Commitment to Wakeland's mission of providing high quality affordable housing opportunities for low-income residents

  5. Ability to work closely and collaboratively with others 

  6. Willingness to travel to supportive housing communities throughout Southern California as needed

  7. Proficiency in word, excel and outlook
