West Hollywood Community Housing Corporation is an award winning developer of affordable housing the City of West Hollywood and the greater Los Angeles area.  As part of the Resident Services Department, the Lead Resident Services Coordinator (RSC) will oversee the development and implementation of WHCHC’s Healthy Aging Program Initiative (HAPI) in West Hollywood. This position will work collaboratively with fellow HAPI lead and reports to the Director of Resident Services. Supervises resident service coordinators serving seniors.


Duties and Responsibilities


Core duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.


  • Plan the delivery of the HAPI program and its activities in accordance with the mission and goals of WHCHC.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate Resident Service Coordinator(s) working directly with seniors.
  • Oversee and input assessments to determine needs of an aging population. Utilize a Vulnerability Index to assess level of engagement needed by RSC.
  • Prepare a budget to ensure HAPI operates within budget guidelines. Assist with funding proposals for the program to ensure the continuous delivery of services.
  • Measure, review, evaluate and direct the daily operations of the program. Conduct bi-annual quality assurance reports for HAPI to assess impact and measure needs.
  • Coordinate RSC staff training to ensure effective program implementation and to stay updated on key topics related to the aging process during monthly in-service trainings led by the Lead RSC and/or community partner.
  • Supervise program staff by providing direction, input and feedback during weekly check in meetings to address challenges and concerns, offer feedback and guidance.
  • Survey senior population to identify priority of needs and solicit resident input on services preference. Assist residents and property managers in understanding those needs.
  • Collaborate with other department directors to ensure the effective and efficient program delivery.
  • Review collected data for all programming offered, record data in ClientTrack.
  • Reports to the Director of Resident Services HAPI evaluation findings, and recommends changes to enhance the program, as appropriate.
  • Maintain a caseload and facilitate evidence based practice programs or evidence informed programming at senior buildings.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with relevant organizations and individuals, with an emphasis on providing on-site services to residents and the community.
  • Create Policies and Procedures guide for HAPI and periodically evaluates, updates, and revises.
  • Analyze aging policy changes (in Medicare/Medi-Cal, Social Security, IHSS, etc.) affecting seniors ability to live independently in our units.
  • Participate in ongoing personal development trainings and conferences to stay updated and informed about trends and best practices in the field of aging.
  • Performs other assignments, as needed.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Includes interviewing, hiring, and training employees;
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work;
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Knowledge, abilities, and skills


  • Knowledge of issues impacting older adults, and is passionate about serving this population;
  • Knowledge of evidence based programs to facilitate and implement across buildings;
  • Communicate effectively: speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques;
  • Anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of residents.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with community social service and health services providers particularly those systems that serve the City of West Hollywood and the City and County of Los Angeles.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.

  • Russian speaking preferred.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess a M.S.W from an accredited university, with a minimum of three years post master’s experience working with the aging population and overseeing program implementation.
  • LCSW preferred
  • Valid California Drivers License
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software programs (Word/Excel/Outlook)


Work Environment/Equipment Used

The work environment will usually be in a professional office setting, with possible shared workspace.  The noise level is usually quiet to moderate.  The individual in this position may operate any or all of the following: standard office equipment including personal computer and personal automobile.


Physical Activity

The Lead Resident Services Coordinator is required to talk, see and hear.  In the course of performing this job, the Lead Resident Services Coordinator typically spends time sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing stairs, listening/speaking, writing, and operating a personal computer and personal automobile.  The Lead Resident Services Coordinator must possess the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
