Compliance Accountant

Position Summary:

The Compliance Accountant responsibilities include supporting HOPE by providing accurate processing, tracking and reporting and following up with accounting and compliance tasks on a frequent basis. We are looking for someone who is passionate and pays great attention to detail. HOPE looks to fill this position with someone who is looking for an opportunity to grow within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete annual reporting to partner cities and agencies to ensure compliance with funding requirements.
  • Analyze contracts and funding agreements to determine compliance regulations.
  • Report to foundations and grantors on the status of grant funding.
  • Assist with establishing and reconciling development budgets.
  • Monitor and analyze status of federal funding.
  • Creation and analysis of HOPE budgets.
  • Assist in the management of the recertification of tenants.
  • Accounts Receivables functions, including but not limited to creating invoices, posting payments, maintaining accurate aging and following up with customers regarding payments
  • Participate in audit and creation of audit schedules.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as needed.
  • Assist with month end and year end closing.
  • Assist with monthly financials and board reporting.
  • Accounts Payable functions, including but not limited to: entering and classifying invoices, and providing reporting to ensure timely payments.
  • Generate, scan and file documents.
  • Data entry into QuickBooks and other HOPE databases.
  • Support of the fundraising, development and communication department as needed.

 Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • 3-5 Years of accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel is required
  • Experience with QuickBooks and other databases.
  • Proven bookkeeping experience
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
