Nonprofit affordable housing agency seeks a highly motivated team player to serve as Construction Specialist in Metro LA & SF Valley areas. The Construction Specialist will perform home inspections, develop project work specifications, bid/contract negotiations, and oversee multiple home rehab/resale projects from conception to completion. Maintain interior and exterior appeal of all assets from completion of rehab until the property is sold. Identify changes in property status and maintenance needs. Maintain a comprehensive list of property resources and weekly visits to assigned assets. Coordinate property repair requests from agents/city inspectors/officials with company approved vendors.
An understanding of the construction process and the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience with specification writing, estimating and strong organizational skills. Must be able to perform home inspections, develop work specs, and oversee work to completion on home rehab/resale projects.
Possess familiarity with construction methodologies, reading construction drawings, estimating software packages and other technical aspects of construction. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is a plus. Knowledge of Los Angeles County building codes required. Must possess a reliable vehicle, valid Calif. driver license, and automobile insurance. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. General Contractor License and/or ICC Certified preferred. Salary $45-55K + benefits.
