Mission-driven, non-profit community developer and affordable home builder seeks highly motivated individuals for the position of Food Justice Coordinator.
The successful candidate will Coordinate and facilitate cooking/nutrition classes with adults and families, using engaging, hands-on curricula in community sites. Facilitate business development workshops for healthy foods and roundtable discussions. Coordinate all marketing opportunities which may include: farmers markets, & community supported agriculture and farming. Work with team to maintain community gardens. Coordinate healthy eating events. Contribute to grant writing and funding opportunities. Responsible for monitoring and evaluation, data collection and reporting outcomes.
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in community health, public policy, marketing or related field. At least two years related work experience in agriculture or community food systems. Demonstrated experience with community organizing and engagement. Related food justice and equity, food systems, agriculture or health/nutrition preferred. Demonstrated understanding of sustainable and organic food production. Strong organizational skills, motivated, flexible and able to work independently. Ability to communicate with limited-English speakers. Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations. Strong technology experience required. Bilingual/Spanish preferred.
